To register for the first course in the series, EDL 501 - Educational Leadership Theory I (online course with live Zoom meetings on Wednesdays 9/21/2022 – 12/7/2022 at 4:30 PM), please follow the below steps:
1) If you missed the live virtual informational meeting, please watch a recording of it by clicking here
2) Complete the brief Google interest form here
3) (Due 7/1/2022) Submit an application to be an Educational Leadership Program student at Stony Brook University by following the instructions on pages/slides 18 - 20 on the attached Powerpoint presentation.

--This is a 36-credit Educational Administration Cohort for advancement to administrative positions at both the district (SDL) and building (SBL) levels. This is one program leading to two certifications.
--Cost per class: $1,195.00
--Classes meet every Tuesday, VIRTUALLY.
--Cohort commitment is 3 years.

Thank you for your interest in Stony Brook University's Post Master's Advanced Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership. The first course (EDL 501: Educational Leadership Theory I) is tentatively scheduled to begin during the Fall 2019 semester, meeting on Tuesdays tentatively from 9/24/19 to 12/10/19. If you are interested in registering, please follow the below steps:

2. All students joining the Educational Leadership Program cohort at the Port Washington Teacher Center for the Fall 2019 term will need to submit all application materials for matriculation in the program by June 30, 2019. Winter 2017 Graduate Course
Advanced Graduate Certificated In Educational Technology
SUNY EST 573 (3 credits) Distance Learning and Virtual Environments
Web-based distance learning applications are quickly growing within higher education institutions, K-12 schools, and corporate environments. The focus of this course is on the underlying theories, design, and implementation of effective modes of e-learning. Students will explore virtual schools, virtual learning, virtual environments and other forms of distance education. The social differences between face-to-face and virtual learning will also be examined and discussed throughout the course. Students will explore virtual learning resources and design their own virtual learning lesson. The culminating project for this course will be the demonstration and write up of the experience.

Advanced Graduate Certificated In Educational Technology
SUNY EST 574 (3 credits) Interactive Multimedia Curricula Design and Development
This course allows students to learn how to use a variety of multimedia tools for the classroom. Principles of user interface and interaction design will be covered. Throughout the course students design an interactive unit plan using multimedia authoring software. Students will work with audio/video editing software, collaborative learning software, and learn how to embed online games, activities and video within their unit plan. Development of the interactive multimedia unit requires students to: submit a proposal, use graphic organizers to plan and design, create a draft version, create assessment tools, test market with a specific target audience, then evaluate the unit before the final version is completed. The culminating activity is the presentation and delivery of the finished interactive multimedia unit.

SUNY EST 573 Educational Technology: Interactive Multimedia Curriculum Design and Development will be combined with SUNY EST 565 Educational Technology: Foundations of Technology Education (new cohort) and follow the EST 573 curricula.
