BOE Code of Conduct Committee

In October 2023, the Board of Education established the BOE Code of Conduct Committee with the charge of reviewing the district's Code of Conduct. An important part of the committee work will be the training in Restorative Practices, the lens through which the Code of Conduct should be reviewed.

This four-day training will be conducted by the Restorative Justice Education group (https://www.restorativejustice.com/) and take place on the following dates:

• January 4th and 5th
• February 1st and 2nd

As part of this four-day training, we can train up to fifteen additional staff members in Restorative Justice practices. The participation of these additional folks would be critical in order to promote restorative practices throughout the district.

The first meeting of the committee will take place on December 18, 2023. We expect the committee to be able to get a first reading of the changes to the Board of Education by the end of this school year.
