Create a personalized word cloud describing all the wonderful characteristics of Mom or Dad!

Digital Storytelling

Use an online collaborative story builder,  like Storybird or Little Bird Tales to have your students create
their own Mother's or Father's Day story, complete with illustrations.
Students can print the story or share it online with their family. 

Comic Life 

Write a comic for Mom or Dad using the Comic Life program!
Students can use clipart from the web or hand-draw pictures that can be photographed with a
digital camera and inserted into Comic Life to create a fun comic for Mom or Dad.

What I Love About My Mom (or Dad) Photo Project

Take a picture of the each student and let students insert the picture into Microsoft Word or Publisher.  Students can select from several sentence starters to add to their document.

“I love my mom (dad) because…”
“I love it when she (he)…”
“She (He) gives me…”
“She(He)  is the best mom(dad) because…” 

Be Funky

 For added fun, have students use the site BeFunky to add special effects to digital pictures. You can upload a picture from your computer and then  save it back to your computer when finished. No downloading or software installation required! Just have fun creating and then insert into your project!

Record  poems, messages, etc. with Audacity and post on your Schoolwires web page!

Use Kidspiration or Inspiration to create a personalized graphic organizer detailing all the
wonderful things they love about Mom.

Poems for Mom/Dad

Make the most of Microsoft Word or Publisher's specialized tools such as borders, frames,
and templates to publish student's poems or writing about Mom.
