Goals
Port Enrichment Program Goals support the Port Washington School District’s Portrait of a Graduate.
Students will be encouraged to:
- Foster academic self-esteem
- Explore personal areas of interest
- Exhibit fluent, flexible, original, and elaborative thinking
- Develop metacognitive skills
- Become independent learners
- Develop communication skills through Socratic methods
- Use conversational skills that will enhance group interaction and student learning
- Develop public speaking and presentation skills
- Foster individual responsibility, accountability, and resilience
- Collaborate effectively with peers
- Use technology as a tool to meet curriculum needs
