Program Overview

The purpose of the AIS math resource program is to provide students in grades 2-5, who are at risk of not meeting the New York State Learning Standards, with additional math instruction in a small group enviroment.  Students are considered for inclusion in the AIS program based on test scores, teacher referrals, or both.  

 

In each of the elementary schools, math resource teachers also support classroom teachers in either a co-teaching or consultant model.  This collaboration often includes implementing standards-based materials and helping differentiate classroom curriculum to accomodate the wide range of learners in the classroom.
