FALL 2022 DRIVER EDUCATION PROGRAM

Based on new guidelines set forth by the NYS Education Department, our Administration has updated the Fall 2022 Driver Ed. program to begin on 9/6/2022 and end on 1/10/2023. This Fall semester will be 16 weeks.

PLEASE NOTE: This Fall semester will be virtual. Students will now be allowed to connect virtually to their theory classes which will run on Tuesdays OR Thursdays only. They MUST attend and they must be consistent with the time they choose!

There will be no excused absences- online attendance will be mandatory and maintained!

Also, based on the new guidelines, parents/guardians will now be able to act as “driving instructors” without a “professional instructor” but they must keep a log of both the number of the student’s driving hours and their observation hours. A form is provided on the website and the hours will have to be logged and then submitted back to us when completed. Students will be required to perform 6 driving hours and 18 observation hours. (observation hours are those hours where a student “observes” a licensed parent drive).

The cost for the program will be $400 for Port Washington residents. ($450 for out of town registrants).

Payments may be made by check, Mastercard, American Express, or Visa.

There is no “in-person” registration this Fall semester.
