Summer 2023 Driver’s Ed

Registration will begin Tuesday May 30, 2023.

There is a limited number of spots and registration is a first come basis.  Parents must register students for both classes: A Theory and a Driving Car Class.

The Summer semester of Driver Education is scheduled to begin on July 31, 2023 and conclude on August 24, 2023.

This 16-day program includes 24 hours of classroom instruction AND 24 hours of driving instruction, with each student spending 6 hours behind the wheel. Additional driving practice outside of class is required by New York State.

Students must be 16 years of age with a valid New York State learners permit by the first day of class (both class and driving instruction).

Tuition is $600, $700 for non-residents.  After the start of the semester, there will be no refunds. Scholarships are available for students eligible for free or reduced lunch.

Attendance at all classes is mandatory.  Be certain that you can attend and be on time for all sessions before you register. Excessive absences will result in the student being removed from the program.  According to State Law, any absence and/or lateness must be made up.  If attendance requirements are not fulfilled, a student will not be issued a certificate of completion and will not receive a refund.

In-car driving lessons will be provided by Bell Auto Driving School.  Each car will have four students per session.

Students who successfully complete the requirement for this course will receive a Student Certificate of Completion (MV285), which includes an insurance premium reduction certificate. After receiving the MV-285 and passing the road test students will then receive a class D license at 17.
