Supporting Our Port Washington Community

Port Washington Union Free School District logo

Dear Port Washington Community,

Port Washington is proud of its diverse community and supports inclusivity, respect, and tolerance. We are shocked and broken-hearted by the violent attack on Israeli citizens. Sadly, the events that have unfolded in Israel have impacted members of our community.

The period ahead will be challenging, and we will try to do our part in embracing our sense of community. We understand that families in Port Washington may have ties to victims of the attack. We stand with the rest of our community in supporting those who are shouldering that grief.

Understanding the potential impact on mental well-being, we strongly encourage anyone in need of support to reach out to the dedicated mental health professionals available at our schools. The well-being of our students and staff is our top priority, and we are here to support them through these difficult moments.

Together, as one resilient community, we will stand strong, providing comfort and assistance to those who need it most. Let us lean on each other and foster the spirit of unity that defines Port Washington.

Warm regards,

hynes
