Paul D. Schreiber High School senior Izaias Clemmons has been named one of thirteen student-athletes across the country to receive the 2026 GREEN13 National Leadership Award from the LEAD ‘EM UP organization. The honor recognizes exceptional character and leadership both on and off the court, celebrating athletes who lead with integrity, selflessness, and heart.
Clemmons carries a torch of leadership that has pushed the Port Washington basketball program to historic heights. During the team's thrilling state championship run, Clemmons stepped up as the only non-senior starter on the floor. When the pressure was at its highest, he became the steady voice in the huddle, repeatedly telling his team to keep fighting and to trust one another.
“Izaias brings an infectious spirit that sets a standard for excellence not just for our team, but for the entire region,” said his basketball coach, Sean Dooley. “He doesn't just lead by example; he lifts up everyone around him when it matters most.”
What sets Clemmons apart is his consistency. Having been "Verified Green" by LEAD ‘EM UP since his sophomore year, his leadership is a daily commitment. “Izaias is a perfect example of a multi-sport athlete who is a role model for his peers and the next generation. He leads by example and dedicates countless hours to improving himself as a player and a person,” said Nick Schratwieser, Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics for Port Washington.
“Izaias embodies exactly what the GREEN13 award is all about—transformational leadership,” said Adam Bradley, Founder and President of LEAD ‘EM UP. “His ability to command a huddle as a underclassman during a championship run, combined with his daily commitment to his teammates, makes us incredibly honored to recognize him as one of this year’s winners.”
With this award, Clemmons joins an elite group of student-athletes nationwide and becomes the fifth Schreiber High School student to receive this national recognition. He continues a proud tradition of leadership in Port Washington, following in the footsteps of past honorees Lily Capobianco (2025), Ally Carillo and Sam Mills (2023), and Christian Schwirzbin (2021).
