On April 24–25, 2026, students from Weber Middle School’s Science Olympiad Academic Teams attended the New York State Tournament in Syracuse, NY. The tournament gives students the opportunity to showcase their scientific knowledge, problem-solving skills, and teamwork, with events spanning multiple scientific disciplines.
Over the course of the two-day competition, Weber competed against forty of the top teams from across New York State and finished 12th place overall.
Principal Beth Javeline noted that competing against top teams from across New York was a significant accomplishment itself and that the students represented Weber Middle School with excellence.
Coaches Irving Tom, Christopher Buchman, Kelsey Heyne, and CarrieAnn Lindstadt-Iurka commended the students for their determination and team spirit throughout the weekend.
