Normal Opening for Tuesday, January 27

Dear Port Washington School Community,

I hope you and your families were able to enjoy the snow day today and stay safe.

As we continue to keep an eye on the weather and road conditions, I wanted to share a quick update about our plans for tomorrow morning.

At this time, we are planning for a normal opening of school. Our Buildings and Grounds crews have been on site throughout the day salting and sanding parking lots, walkways, and entrances to make sure our campuses are ready for students and staff. Our transportation provider has also confirmed that they are prepared to operate on a normal schedule.

That said, due to yesterday’s storm, there may be some lingering transportation delays. We appreciate your patience if buses arrive a bit later than usual.

Please use caution when traveling in the morning, drive carefully, and allow some extra time. For those who walk to school, please be mindful that some sidewalks and pathways en route may not be fully cleared.

We will continue to monitor conditions closely and will share any updates, if needed, by 6:00 a.m. If you do not hear from us, please assume that schools will open on a normal schedule.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping ensure a safe start to the day.

Sincerely,

Gaurav Passi, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
