Code of Conduct Advisory Committee

Dear Port Washington Parents and Guardians:

The Board of Education asking that you consider applying for a position on the School Board's Code of Conduct Advisory Committee. You need to be a Port Washington resident to apply and have a student in attendance at one of the seven schools. You can apply for the committe through this form: https://forms.gle/tLyweSS9YEFXczEa7

The purpose of this committee is to collaborate in a review and revision of the District's Code of Conduct. The committee's work will continue for most of this school year. 

Members of this committee must be able to meet virtually or in person between the hours of 8:30 am - 3:30 pm and between the months of November-May, school vacation days excluded. Meetings will be held in person and some virtually based on the schedule created by the chairs. You must be present at all meetings to participate. Additionally, members must be able to attend four days of in-person training. The dates of this training are as follows:
  • Monday, December 18th and Tuesday, December 19th
  • Thursday, January 4th and Friday, January 5th
 
Please do not submit an application if you cannot meet this requirement.
 
Members of this committee must be comfortable with reviewing policy and making recommendations that align with district priorities and federal, state and local law. Members must also be comfortable serving as "ambassadors" for the committee's work to the school community.
  
The application deadline is November 17th. Applicants will be notified the week of November 27th if they are on the committee.
