• Welcome to Schreiber High School Counseling and Guidance!
The high school guidance department consists of eight school counselors.  Counselors work with students and families throughout the day to provide a myriad of services, ranging from academic and social support to personal and overall wellness/development.

Upon entry into the high school, students are assigned to a school counselor who will loop with them throughout the four years.  Each year, counselors meet with students to conduct an individual progress review, and customize plans that will best meet their educational objectives, as well as address student social emotional needs.  Goal setting, resume building, career readiness, and future planning are just to name a few of the topics that counselors engage with their counselees.

The guidance department sponsors a number of events, including workshops on academic advisement, course scheduling, Naviance, mock interviews, transition, college planning, financial aid, and other related counseling programs. Information is also available regarding community service, summer opportunities, and future preparedness.  The department is also stocked with college and scholarship information, including applications.

As part of our outreach efforts, counselors utilize Naviance, an online communication platform, to inform students and families of time-sensitive information.  Hence, all students and parents should activate their accounts and familiarize themselves with Naviance.

Guidance staff are also available to alumni who require copies of their high school transcripts and/or other services that pertain to high school studies and attendance.

For any/all questions, please feel free to reach out to Lorrie Director, Director of Guidance, PK-12 at  ldirector@portnet.org
