    THE STRING PROGRAM!
    Music Notes

    Participating in the instrumental program is encouraged but optional. Students will participate in a weekly group lesson and the program will culminate in a concert in the spring. Students will be expected to practice on a regular basis. 

     

    Instrument Choices: Violin, viola or cello. Students wishing to play the bass are encouraged to speak to the string teacher. 
     
    The following are local places that an instrument can be rented:

    Materials Needed:

    1. Instrument
    2. Book: Essential Elements Interactive, book 1 (for the given instrument, for example, “violin.” If a store does not have the book in stock, you can find it online/amazon.com etc.) Please clearly label the outside and inside of your child’s book.
    3. Music Stand (Metal folding music stands are approx. $15.00)
    4. Rosin
    5. Violin/Viola: students will need a shoulder rest (The Resonans or Kun is recommended.)
    6. Cello: Endpin Strap or Rock Stop for home practice
