AGATE of Port Washington (Advocacy for Gifted and Talented Education) is a parent-based group working within the district to support a curriculum geared to challenge each student to his or her fullest potential. It supports curriculum differentiation in K-12 and accelerated and honors classes at the secondary level. AGATE also serves as a parent and community education resource and looks for ways to open communication among parents, teachers and administration on issues bearing on the education of the high-ability child.
