• CHORUS
     
    ALL students in grades three, four, and five participate in a choral program as part of their music education
     
    THIRD YEAR BEGINNER CHORUS (March through June)
    Unison singing, rounds, simple ostinati, songs in foreign/world languages, simple rhythmic movement; Beginner Concert in June
     
    FOURTH YEAR CHORUS (September through May)
    Unison singing, rounds, 2 and 3-part ostinati, partner songs, simple 2-part harmony, rhythmic movement, songs with American Sign Language, songs in foreign/world languages; Winter Concert (December) and Spring Concert (May)
     
    FIFTH YEAR CHORUS (September through June)
    Unison singing, rounds, 2, 3, and 4-part ostinati, partner songs, 2 and 3 -part harmony, descant, choralography (choral choreography), American Sign Language, foreign/world languages;Winter Concert (December), Spring Concert (May); Moving Up Day (June)
     
    ALL COUNTY CHORUS (November through January)
    Two or three students from fifth year level are nominated by Mrs. Utzig through audition (names are sent to Nassau Music Educators Association  and then selected by committee); advanced 2 and 3-part choral music; All County Concert (January at Tilles Center, L.I. Univ. at C.W. Post)
     
    ALL DISTRICT CHORUS (February through May)
    20-22 students from fifth year level are selected by Mrs. Utzig through audition; challenging 2 and 3-part choral music; All District Concert (May at Weber M.S.)
