When you hear a teacher say
"Read to your child each day",
    do you wonder why?
Here are some of the reasons:
Reading to young children promotes language acquisition and literacy development and, later on, achievement in reading comprehension and overall success in school.Research has shown that reading aloud to children is the best way to prepare children for learning to read and to keep children reading as they learn and grow.  Reading aloud with your child allows you to have a special time for you to bond with your child. Cuddle together and read about great adventures. Talk about the characters in the book, ask questions about those characters and above all laugh at all the silly characters you meet as you read together. You'll be helping your children develop a lifelong appreciation for reading.
