Ms. Adriana Najera-Pollak is a bilingual, licensed Social Worker who has been committed to serving the needs of teens and families at Schreiber High School since 2010. She completed four years of medical school from a six-year program and interned in both ER and psychiatric hospitals in Argentina. Ms. Najera-Pollak earned her Master’s degree in social work at Adelphi University and attended classes at New York University (NYU) for her Post Masters Certifications in Advanced Clinical Practice, Advanced Assessment and Diagnosis, Clinical Approaches to Addictions, and Clinical Practice with Adolescences. She constantly participates in continuing educational events at Harvard University’s Medical School Department. She completed her Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) educational training at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia and is currently pursuing her clinical social work doctorate studies at NYU.

    At Schreiber, she employs her expertise in a multitude of areas including student and family counseling, support groups, and specializes in substance abuse prevention. She is a member of the District and Community Safety and Substance Abuse Task Force and is the NYS Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) representative service provider for the Port Washington School District. Ms. Najera-Pollak also serves as NYS “Dignity for All the Students Act” (DASA) high school coordinator. She provides educational workshops for Spanish speaking parents from the Port Washington community and is deeply involved in the welfare of Schreiber students. Serving as a team member of the S.T.E.P.S. Program and Freshman Learning Community (FLC) Program, Ms. Najera-Pollak helps ensure that students maximize their academic, social, and emotional potential. She served as the President of the No Place for Hate School Committee as well as district coordinator of the New York City’s Anti-Defamation League. Currently, she is the advisor of both the Natural Helpers Program and the iCulture club. Ms. Najera-Pollak is available for consultation by appointment.
